CERTIFICATION COURSES AVAILABLE
The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) program is based on the principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and meets the guidelines established by the Committee on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (Co-TECC). The course teaches civilian tactical EMS; any EMS practitioner called upon to respond to a mass casualty or active shooter event.
The U.S. Department of Defense’s Tactical Combat Casualty Care course, conducted by NAEMT, introduces evidence-based, life-saving techniques and strategies for providing the best trauma care on the battlefield. NAEMT’s TCCC course is the only TCCC course endorsed by the American College of Surgeons.
LEFR-TCC teaches public safety first responders including police, other law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders the basic medical care interventions that will help save an injured responder's life until EMS practitioners can safely enter a tactical scene. It combines the principles of PHTLS and TCCC, and meets the recommendations of the Hartford Consensus document and TECC guidelines.
Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) is a comprehensive education program for EMS practitioners on the care of sick and injured children, addressing a full spectrum of emergency illnesses, injuries and scenarios that an EMS practitioner might encounter.
The Geriatric Education for Emergency Medical Services (GEMS) program trains emergency and mobile healthcare practitioners to deliver state-of-the-art care to geriatric patients. The second edition of this highly acclaimed program addresses the geriatric-specific topics and competency statements in the National EMS Education Standards.
The EMS Safety program is designed to promote a culture of EMS safety and help reduce the number and intensity of injuries incurred by EMS practitioners in carrying out their work.
Principles of Ethics and Personal Leadership (PEPL) provides EMS and Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) practitioners at all levels with the skills they need to effectively interact with patients and their families, medical personnel, coworkers, supervisors and the community. Course topics include personal and professional core values, ethics, decision-making, duty to serve and conflict resolution.
Injury through assault remains a widely recognized, but little acknowledged, problem threatening emergency service personnel. Many EMS and fire personnel admit to being attacked by a violent patient, an angry bystander or upset family member. The frequency of assault on our fire and EMS providers is alarming and while most attacks are not life threatening, the risk of serious injury is evident and unpredictable. Responders require a reasonable, liability-conscious, effective means of preventing and avoiding assault, before it occurs, and defending themselves once attacked.
EVE4EMS/Fire covers the basic skills required by any responder or provider when facing possible or imminent assault or use of force.
Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-Con) teaches participants the basic life-saving medical interventions, including bleeding control with a tourniquet, bleeding control with gauze packs or topical hemostatic agents, and opening an airway to allow a casualty to breathe. The course is designed for NON tactical law enforcement officers, firefighters, security personnel, teachers and other civilians requiring this basic training.
